Our promise about your information
A short guide for children, in plain English. Last updated: 6 May 2026.
Who is this for?
You! If you do lessons with Singapore Maths Academy, this page tells you what we know about you, why we have it, and how to ask us to remove it. We've kept it short and used everyday words.
Read this with your grown-up if anything is unclear.
What do we know about you?
When you do lessons with us, we have:
- Your name (the one your grown-up entered)
- Your year group at school, like Year 5 or Year 8
- The year you were born (just the year, not the day)
- A secret 4-digit code you use to open your space — we keep it scrambled so nobody can read it
- Which lessons you went to, and which ones you missed
- Your quiz scores and progress, when our learning section is ready
We do not have your email, your phone number, or anything about where you are. We don't need those things to teach you maths.
Why do we have it?
So your tutor knows what you've learned, what's next, and how to help you get better at maths. That's it. We don't sell your information to anyone. We don't show you adverts. We don't use what you do in your lessons to try to sell you anything.
Who can see it?
- Your grown-up — they can see everything we have, because they're in charge of your account
- Your tutor — so they can plan your lessons
- The team at Singapore Maths Academy — for things like sorting out your timetable
That's the whole list. Nobody outside Singapore Maths Academy can look at your lessons or your scores.
How long do we keep it?
Only as long as we need it to teach you. Here's the simple version:
- While you're learning with us: we keep what we need so your tutor can plan good lessons.
- When you stop: we keep the basics for one year so we can answer your grown-up's questions if they come back. Then most of it is deleted.
- Money records (like invoices): the law makes us keep these for seven years, even after you've left.
- Your secret 4-digit code: deleted as soon as you stop using your account.
Your grown-up can ask us to remove things sooner — see the next section.
How do you ask us to remove it?
Ask your grown-up. They can remove your stuff at any time from their account page. Once it's removed, it's gone — we don't keep a hidden copy.
You can also ask your grown-up to email us at privacy@singaporemathsacademy.co.uk and we'll do it for you.
Tell someone if something feels wrong
If anything online ever feels strange, scary, or just off — even if it's not on our site — tell a grown-up you trust. They can help you figure out what to do.
If you're worried about your information, your grown-up can also tell the Information Commissioner's Office — the people in the UK whose job is to keep everyone's information safe.
